Please note that the SDHC cards are not backwards compatible with SD devices. However, the standard SD cards forward compatible with SDHC devices.
SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) was created, to the growing demand for HD (High definition) video.
These are meant for HD film devices and SDHC SD card is a requirement.
SDHC cards have the same physical size and vormals a standard SD card.
If the SD card version 2.0 or higher, and this 4Gigabyte is adopted as SDHC card.
SDA (SD Card Association) also has a classification established (class 2, 4 and 6) for the standardization of the mandatory data transfer speeds: • CLASS 4-guaranteed minimum write speed of 4 MB/s or higher.
• CLASS 6-guaranteed minimum write speed of 6 MB/s or higher.
• CLASS 10 guaranteed minimum write speed of 10 MB/s or higher.
The minimum speed capability depends on the manufacturer and the model.
All cards are compatible with SDHC.
For best performance, the class of SDHC memory card that is recommended by the manufacturer of the device, must be adhered to.
This new concept of the speed classification gives the device the possibility, to the SDHC card check (checks the State, where the empty spaces are located in memory), to calculate what speed in each section of the range may be used.
This determines where the data is stored, in order to achieve the desired speed units.
This was unfortunately not possible, with the standard SD card format.
If a device a particular class advises, then it is advisable to you to stick to it.
